Toccata – Margot Wright
Toccata in A Minor for solo piano by Margot Wright (1911-2000). Wright was a British composer and pianist who studied at the Royal Academy of Music. It unclear when this Toccata was composed. Wright gave it the subtitle “Opus 1” which could imply that it was an early work; however, she did not use opus numbers on any other works. There are no records of this Toccata being publicly performed during Wright’s lifetime. Wright likely played it as she was a gifted pianist.
