Composer, Pianist & Teacher

Margot Wright was a British composer, pianist and teacher born in 1911 in Barnsley. After studying piano and composition at the Royal Academy of Music, Wright enjoyed a successful compositional career, spanning the 1930s. At the outbreak of World War Two, Wright stopped composing, instead focusing on performing, teaching and raising her family. Wright returned to composing in the 1980s, writing her last work, Fear No More The Heat O’ The Sun, just a year before her death in 2000.
